What is a Myth????
A Myth is a made-up story that explains the existence of a natural phenomenon. Greeks used them to convey their idea about how things such as the evils of the world, different creatures and different constellations came about. Because of this they were a very important part of the Greek Religion!

Myths that taught a lessonPrometheus and Pandora’s Box _
King Midas and the golden touch_This story explains how the Greeks believed the gods gave gifts to a few mortals. It tells the story of King Midas and how was gifted with his true wish to have a touch that would turn things to gold. It tells of what happened after and the negative consequences of his gift. This myth was important to the Greeks as it made them realise that gifts from the gods were not always good and it made them fear the gods.
Icarus and Daedalus_This story explains how the Greeks beliefs about the consequences of your actions. It tells the story of the inventor Daedalus, his capture along with his son Icarus and the tragic ending to their escape.
Persephone and the winter seeds_This story explain the seasons to the Greeks. It tells of Persephone and how she became the queen of underworld along with Hades. It tells of how her mother, Demeter, argued with Hades so that she could be released from hell for half the year, and how this half the year became Summer and Spring. This story shows how the Greeks believed the gods were the fundamental essence of every thing in their world.
Psych and Eros_This story does not explain much more then how Psych and Eros fell in love. Psych was a beautiful mortal who made the mistake of looking at her husband Eros, the son of Aphrodite and fell out of his favour. It tells of how she completed challenges to win his favor back and how she became his godly wife in return. The lesson it teaches is that a betrayal of the gods favor or wishes results in negative consequences.
Myths about HeroesHercules and the golden apple_Hercules, the most famous of all Greek heroes. This tells the story of his adventures including when he stole a golden apple from the garden or Atlas, escaping both the dragon that guarded the garden and the twelve daughters of Atlas.
Jason and the ARGONAUTS _
This clip tells the story of Jason and his adventures sailing the cursed waters of the Bermuda triangle with his trusty crew called the Argonauts.
Perseus, the search for medusa_This clip tells the story of Perseus and how he killed the hideous monster Medusa.
Theseus and the Minotaur_This clip tells the story of Theseus and how he defeated the Minotaur in Daedalus' deadly Labyrinth.
Odysseus and the Trojan horse_This clip tells the story of Odysseus and his part in the eventual fall of Troy in the Trojan War.
Andromeda the warrior princess_This clip tells the story of Andromeda and how she was rescued by Perseus after her father sacrificed her to save his kingdom from a sea monster.
